IHHT stands for Intermittent Hypoxia-Hyperoxia Training. Training according to the IHHT method belongs to oxygen therapies and is a form of simulated altitude training.
At the beginning, short tests are performed to determine the right dose for a given person. In the second step, blood oxygen content and pulse are measured with a pulse oximeter. The last step is putting on the breathing mask. The application is carried out comfortably in a lying position. You inhale different oxygen concentrations in a relaxed way. An accompanying measurement of heart rate variability shows how well the body can compensate for the training and relieve stress.
Since every person and their physical condition must be considered individually, precise coordination with the attending physician is necessary.
Public health insurance does not yet pay for IHHT therapy. Private health insurance usually covers the cost. If you are unsure, contact your insurance advisor.
Other factors such as diet, supplements and exercise are very important, as is regular breathing training.
Ideally, you should integrate regular IHHT sessions into your daily routine to benefit continuously.
At commercial facilities the cost of a session ranges from about 150 to 300 PLN per hour.

A mild headache may appear at the beginning, which usually subsides the day after the session. This side effect is particularly noticeable during intensive training. Mild tiredness or exhaustion is also possible.
